Charity Sail - During the summer of 2007 I sailed around the UK to raise money for three worthy charities; RNLI, Outward Bound and William's Fund, a children's cancer research project.

I started from Chichester in West Sussex in June 2007 and will travel clockwise, taking approximately 3 months to complete.

My boat is a Legend 356, called Pernera Princess. She can accommodate 7 adults but my plan is to sail alone for many legs but individuals to join me on others.

Why do this? Well, apart from raising money for charities, I have always wanted to take some time out for a longer sea trip and the UK from sea has a certain fascination. My only reservation is leaving my young family who are used to me being at home most days. So I will be taking a few days out over the 3 months to meet up with them.

"Fund Raise Update.........As 2007 comes to an end the total raised for charity stands at a magnificant £2,239.05! This includes tax bonuses. The Charitysail Justgiving pages have now closed to new donations, so all that is left is to say a very BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported and gave generously."
